Thanks for caring EMS volunteers This letter was sent to the Jamestown Emergency Medical Services and copied to the Jamestown Press. I stumbled on the Narragansett Avenue sidewalk just outside of Chopmist Charlie's early Saturday morning, July 26. Luckily my right hand broke my fall, though the ensuing wound was ultimately considered serious hand trauma requiring many stitches. The Jamestown EMS was called at 12:57 a.m. and arrived promptly. Charles Thompson and Lee Engle were calm, thorough and highly professional as they tended my hand on the way to the Newport Hospital emergency room. I had the opportunity to chat with Charles and discovered that we both graduated from the same small high school, though 23 years apart. It was clear that he is a caring, intelligent person dedicated to teaching and helping others. I remain fortunate on several levels to have been looked after by Charles and Lee. Please know that my wife and I are grateful for their service.
Jamestown is in good hands courtesy of your EMS volunteers. |
